PTS – G.SHDSL Modems Reliable and cost effective solution for symmetrical high-speed transmission of single or multiple interfaces over single or dual copper pair PTS G.SHDSL modem series is an ideal solution for Telcos, competitive local exchange providers (CLEC) and Internet service providers (ISP) by offering compact, reliable and cost effective solution for all applications where high-speed (64 kbps – 9,2 Mbps) repeater-less communication over single or dual pair copper pair is required.

Primary application areas are in connecting to central offices, remote access nodes or digital loop carriers via E1 (framed, unframed, with or without CRC, any number of used time slots), base station controllers within GSM/UMTS mobile networks, PBX, ISDN primary nodes, Ethernet LANs, routers, switches, etc.

PTS SHDSL modems are available as standalone and as standard 19” wide rack mount versions. Rack mount housing accepts up to 14 slots, thus providing densities from 14 to 56 SHDSL lines and the same number of interfaces. Each unit contains local DC/DC power converter, thus greatly enhancing reliability of the rack-mounted system.

PTS modems series types

In PTS modem series we have option to use single or dual copper pair option for transmission. On the interface side you can get different special combinations as dual E1 or E1+Ethernet over single copper pair and of course all the standard single interface options where dual pair is a possibility for longer reach.

Each PTS modem can work in single bearer (one interface) or dual bearer mode (two different interfaces at the same time), both delivering payload over one or two SHDSL copper pair. Simultaneous access of dual interface types over one or two copper pairs is of particular interest when bridging the gap between classical and next generation networks. The very useful function is linking together simultaneous voice and data over single or dual copper pair from local PBX and Ethernet networks to Telco office, where both streams proceed separate ways into switched TDM and IP networks. In dual interface configuration, PTS-01 modem series supports the whole data rate range of 64 kbps – 5.696 Mbps.
