EMX – Configuration #3
Configuration #3 represents a totally NEW solution for bringing Broadband Internet access directly to customer's home in a very economical
way. There is a 4 port DSL IP-DSLAM integrated in RT unit. Twisted copper pairs between RT unit and NT units EMX-NT1 (DSL modems)
are thus transformed into DSL lines (up to 1 km) providing POTS and Broadband Internet connection to four subscribers on each RT unit.
SHDSL line serves for transmission of POTS-TDM channels and as uplink for aggregated IP traffic from 4 Broadband subscribers. On the CO
side the IP traffic is aggregated firstly on COT card from all pertinent SHDSL lines and then by means of Ethernet-switch card (EES-G16) from
all COT cards in order to provide one FE or GE uplink for all subscribers connected to one UAR-016 shelf. Besides 4 DSL ports on every RT
up to 12 POTS-TDM subscribers may be connected over one single copper pair! See scheme 1 and table 1.
Integareted IP-DSLAM provides aggregation and security segregation of IP traffic from 4 individual subscribers. Data rate for individual subscriber
on DSL port is up to 2 Mbps symmetrically (with 1:4 overbooking ratio) and can be limited in 64 kbps steps for each subscribers individually.
- 4 x 4 DSL; (DSL = POTS + BB-Internet), see EMX-N44 in table 1
- 2 x (4 POTS + 4 DSL); (DSL = POTS + BB-Internet), see EMX-N48 in table 1
- 1 x (8 POTS + 4 DSL); (DSL = POTS + BB-Internet), see EMX-N4C in table 1
