Digitalization of the telecommunications networks is now progressing from switches to access networks and subscribers’ equipment. ISDN plays a large role in this process, though it uses the same wiring that comes into your home or business as does the POTS (Plain Old Telephone Service) system. In short POTS – ordinary analogue telephony – uses the well-known communications medium of twisted copper pair. Because of this fact telephone operators all over the world still face the same problem in the digital age that they faced in analogue times – a chronic shortage of available copper cables and wiring.

Until recently the fastest, simplest and most efficient solution for connecting new POTS subscribers to the the telecoms’ services were so-called Pair-Gain Systems known also as PCM systems. Because these systems are so simple to install and because they have a good price-performance ratio they are today widely used in the subscriber loops of telecoms all over the world. Our company has now developed a logical successor to the classical PCM-POTS system which we have named BAV – the ISDN-BRA Pair Gain System.

Finally you can solve the problem of copper-pair shortage for your new ISDN subscribers – in just the same way as you did with your POTS subscribers! Fast, easy and cost effective! Our new system gives you a very simple solution for telephony access that enables you to connect five (5!) ISDN-BRA subscribers over one single pair of copper wire. Yes, we’re talking about ISDN-BRA Pair-Gain.
